Welcome to the West Virginia I Chapter of the Blue Knights
The Wall That Heals
West Virginia I of Charleston, WV had the distinct privilege of volunteering to pull security at "The Wall That Heals" when it visited Ripley, WV from 18 - 22 April 2007. Ready volunteers from our club wearing their colors began duties on Saturday at 8 AM working through 8 AM Sunday with two members on duty in four hours increments. Site managers reported that there are four Viet Nam Memorial Rolling Walls sponsored by different organizations and companies.
The "Wall That Heals" is an exact replica of the Wall found in Washington DC and is one-half its actual size and is inscribed with 58, 249 military men and women that died in Viet Nam from 1959 to 1975.
Brother Steve Tincher had the pleasure of singing the National Anthem at the opening ceremonies and two patriotic songs at the closing. In his words which all of WV I agrees with " I consider this a privilege to have any part in The Wall That Heals".
On Saturday 21st, WV I and members from the Red Knights met in Charleston and in a group of twenty bikes rode to the wall in honor of our men and women that paid the ultimate sacrifice.
